Last week was intense.

It's been a while since I have been THAT busy!

We managed to carry out our exhibition with success and I was able to create these new promotional items for my label Osiris;






My team and I were very satisfied with all we accomplished and I want to summarize Kathryn with the photo below I took in Hanzomon.



I also helped play my part in Diner's 3rd year anniversary:

So today I have started to cleanse my body bit by bit:



First I am using the super food Moringa; I find it gives me increased energy throught out the day and is good for cleansing the colon.

 

That I have also been taking this yeast from Izu called Cobon, which is based on Coenzyme Q10, which has really good benefits for white blood cells, liver and fighting heart burn.



I also drink a tablespoon of this fermented rice vinegar; I find this keeps my immune system is good condition.

I will be keeping a minimal profile this week.

It's been a busy week as usual.

This week I have been trying to focus on getting more day time shots for the Cartel Bikes Instagram (please follow us!), so have been spending time to look for interesting spots around the office to shoot my bike at:


Experimenting with panorama here.



This one I took on Ushi Zaka; I have a thing for various hills located in Azabu areas of Minato-ku.



Here I wanted to go for a contemporary look, using the glass panes and marble stairs as a backdrop really brings out the subtle colors and textures of my bike; the matt black Carbon fork and Carbon wheels really contrast againist the gloss finish of the "Avenue Lo" frame.

The following shots I thought about showing details of my bike.



I am in love with the Carbon Clincher wheel, but this shot should have been a bit more centered. 






For the final two shots I wanted to highlight a subtle detail of my bike; which is the black reflector stick used on the frame, a detail that most people would not catch onto...(especially if am speeding past).


Other than Cartel antics I was asked to model for the below event:


We had to literally be standing mannequins.

In between that and other work I also had to prepare for my personal exhibition:

It's been a busy week and it just turned to Friday;  lets see where the weekend will take me....
 

Last week Tuesday I was invited to play at DJ Bar Bridge in Shibuya for the following regular event:



I stopped playing on vinyl in 2012 as the music I was digging at that time was mainly from the internet, but in the past 3 years internet music has been on the decline, as Vinyl and even Cassette tape sales have been on the rise.



I am sure every DJ has their own method of putting together a set, but for me it's mainly two key steps;

1）Digging through your own personal archive (to select which records to play).

2) Organizing them into a set (Image training which order you play the records).

During that process It's always nice to find records you forgot about like these;

 My jam for changing the mood at ANY time is this, and it is actually produced by 'A Guy Called Gerald'!!!



AND



Dee Cape & Inity Band ‎– Tic Tok

This record holds particular sentimenal value as it was produced by Brassfoot's father RAY CAPE and sung by his Aunt DEE CAPE; and was given to me personally by Brassfoot himself back in 2006 when we became Spexsavers.




Finally I want to make special mention to this record:



FunkinEven ‎– Chips / Sweets

This record takes me back to late 2011 and 2012, when I feel my vinly playing style was at it's strongest.





The record was also sent to me personally by Funkineven himself and 1 of 250 copies (Rare!).

The experiences I have had with music and records, remind me of how experiences are what make our 'road' (life); hence why at Cartel Bikes we say 'Experience Your Road'.


 

先週末の土曜日CartelのカメラマンDaisuke Uranoと一緒に撮影したんだ。

そしてRainbow Bridge!!!



本当は俺の夢がレインボーブリッジで走りたい、でも厳しいね。。。



レインボーブリッジ上を歩きました３０分ぐらいかかった。

そうするとお台場海浜公園到着しました。
けっこう公園でいい写真とりました。




お台場の所浦野さんたくさんきれいなとってくれた、夏てきなでもまだ出来たないから皆様お楽しみして下さい。



その後友達の所、２７階のBarにも写真とりましたその時友達の息子さんに紹介されってのめちゃくちゃいい子だった。

それでお台場さやならした、森下にまだしゅうぱつした。
最後に美味しい物を浦野さんに食べしゃしたいかったです！

I left my house and rode to Shinagawa on bike of course!



新幹線で大阪到着。
Arrived in Osaka.
すぐホテルにcheck-inしました。
Checked into my hotel.
その後、串かつを食べました。
Ate some Kushi Katsu.
そこから。。。
From there...




夜の南波とどうとんぼりをふらふらしてからホテルに帰りました。
Enjoyed the night views of Nanba and Dontonbori before heading back to the hotel to sleep.

次の日の朝ホテル出てから。。。
In the morning I left the hotel and...


喫茶店行って美味しいコーヒーゆっくり飲んだ。
Enjoyed a nice ice coffee float at a traditional coffee shop.

コーヒーの後、友達の'Corner Shop'にご飯を食べに行きました。
Before to heading to my friends 'Corner Shop' for lunch.




Corner Shopとなりにこの面白いスピーカー見つけた。
Next to the 'Corner shop' I found these interesting speaker dolls.

河豚と鰻どっちがメイン？

Leaving Osaka we took the Nankai line to Hashimoto, where we changed for the Koya line to Mount Koya.
南海線にのって高野山までしゅっぱつしました。



We took a break at Koyashita station.
高野下駅できゅうけいをしました。軽いさんぽもした。




Arriving in Mount Koya we went straight to our accomodation which was in this monastry.
高野山到着した我々は、まっすぐこの修道院にあった私たちの宿泊施設に行ってきました。


After check-in we went for a lunch at local restaurant that also served traditional vegetarian food.

チェックインした後、我々はま
た、伝統的なベジタリアン料理を求め、地元のレストランでランチに行ってきました。

After eating, we had made plans to participate in a special meditation ceremony.
食べた後、私たちは特別な瞑想の儀式に参加する計画をしていました。





The temple was exquisite.

寺院は絶妙でした.

So was the Monastry.
修道院も。



After dinner we were invited to write a special mantra.
晩ご飯後我々が特別なマントラを書くために招待されました。

The next day we left the rainy Mount Koya and rode 830 Metres downhill back to Hashimoto station to make our way to Nara.
次ぎの日雨がけっこう降ってたので高野山にさよならしてバイクで下りた。。。
それはすごい楽しかったけどたいへてんだった！
その後、奈良までしゅぱつした。



Arriving in Nara we went straight to TODAI-JI Temple in Nara Nation Park.
奈良とうちゃくしてからすぐに奈良公園の中の東大寺に行きました。



It's huge!
本当に大きい！



And contains this also huge image of the Buddha.
大仏も出かい。

We explored around the park and met countless numbers of Deer...
公園でさんぽしてたらたくさんの鹿に会ったの。



But this one Deer stood out the most for me as a metaphor for being still, and knowing oneself enough to have humble confidence to face any situation.
でもこの鹿を見たら、いろいろ感じた。。。
自分の静けさや自分の知識を分かったら、謙虚な自信をもつことで色々な状況に遭遇しても大丈夫！

An amazing Journey.

素晴らしい旅だった。

我々が8月のGo Out Magazineに載りました。

先週の金曜日Garden House Craftsのopening行ってきました。




パン屋さんよりGarden House Craftsはデリカテッセン。


簡単の説明だったら全部が美味しいの店！





Beerはけっこううまかった。



メーロンSmoothieも！



でも一番びっくりしたのはこのキュリー入ってるの飲み物。。。なぜか？
だってこれはイギリスのPIMMSだよ。。。８年ぶりに飲んでないのにいきなりだった！



たぶん他の人が同じ感じ。。。じゃない？



今日からGarden House Craftsが始まった。

ウィールを変えました。
それで変えた日ぐうぜんに僕の友達とPhotographer Jesse Freemanにまた原宿であったそれで上の写真を撮ったくれた！
新しいウィールはDINERの20mm CARBON CLINCHER WHEELです。

めちゃくちゃかるいです！
前のウィールの見た目が衝撃的だったけど今回のウィールは渋くて軽くなりました！
