I guess there is one major point that decides how people

experience their road with our 'Avenue' bikes can you

guess it?

Yup it's difference between riding drop or riser...which

would you choose?

Remember the best place to get those compatible cartel

parts is Diner!

Oh remember last week I played for the lovely people at

Grind London?

I did not take to many pictures but the few I did I will

share with you:

I was recently re-united with an old friend who helped me DJ

that night:

This laptop contains SOOO much good music I totallty forgot

about...I really need to go through it and get it all out before

laying this dinosaur to rest one and for all.

JR also come through and threw down a nice surpise set

With the tune of the night and set being this:

Thanks to everyone who came down to make the night a

success.

After we jumped into KANTALAND...

The rest of the night is a blur but yeh Saturday was hard!

Well not that hard actually since I got to also play at Coins

Bar in Shibuya to help celebrate my man Dave The III's

birthday... once again HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Which actually was the first stop of my lined up gigs that

night, and on the way to Ginza this happened...

A complete random stranger but it was good to see him

experiencing his road.

Which put me in a good mood to play my set in Ginza,

'Ginza Music Bar' is a lovely way to spend any evening...

It certainly attracts the right type of clientele...

Ginza never fails to amaze me!

Btw in case you missed the August NCA radio show, here

it is:

Got this on now I prepare to step out for my set tonight

here:

See you there or at the next update?

Getting right into this update I have to start by thanking

the people at FNMNL magazine:

For featuring our upcoming party with LAPAZ and just in

case you missed it:

A new way to experience your road - 'Cartel' by Cartel Bikes.

from Cartel Bikes on Vimeo.

Hope to see you there.

Do you remember this bike from our instagram?:

Well you all showed this bike quite a bit of love and really I

cannot blame you at all...such a simple and definitive

custom 'Avenue' put together by Diner (thank you).

Simple because there are only three custom parts to it;

actually if you have been following this blog you may

have noticed that I have been mainly focusing on simple

customs.

The first thing you may notice about this 'Avenue' is the

saddle:

The Blue Unicanitor saddle by Cinelli is makes a light and

comfortable statement indeed.

Next is heavy repeator on our blog and with good reason

too...

Diner's original 88mm carbon wheel making the standard

'Avenue' lighter and more aero dynamic.

The final touch comes from Michelin:

I have also used the Pro4 Service tyre which is slicker than

rick, but also gives you that coloring option... nice!

So lets give it up to this custom 'Avenue' just one more

time:

Last week I also took part in a photo shoot for brand

TACTAC... and as usual they chose an unusual setting:

Rare...

Really rare...

Decorations and equipment were scattered  all over the

place...

It was actually a snack bar of epic proportions and if you ask

me nicely enough I might just tell you where it is...

That snack bar actually had a lot of analogue equipment,

and while dropping into the CE exibition last week I was

shown something that needs analogue equipment to be

played...

Telepathy... if you have to google it then it's too late but

wow, it was one rave I always dreamed about going to

but was WAY to young to enter...

But I know man who not only use to attend, but actually

use to spin at those raves:

He goes by the name of Stitch or back then Lieutenant

Stitch:

I guess some legends are real?

Anyway enjoy these tid bits from the UK's amazing rave

culture... and I'll see you in the midweek?

Well it's Friday again which means your weekend of RNR is before you,

for me I will be kept busy with more gigs than you can shake a stick at

as you will see... but let me re-cap for a moment to what I got up to

last week...

The ocean (HEISAURA), me, Peaks5 Sup boards and some surfboards... what could go

wrong?

It was my first time trying to surf and I must say it's gonna take a good few more hours

of practice before I can even stand up on a Surfboard - good fun though. SUP however

I think I picked up quite naturally and love the feeling of paddling and gliding thru the

ocean - the ocean is amazing.

It was really nice spending time with the Diner family - and I really would like to take

this moment to say THANK YOU.

Yeh man!

We hit the onsen after our time at the beach and for the first time ever I was able to

get into the cold bath...very refreshing.

After the Onsen we kept it ocean related and hit up the local sushi spot - very good,

but actually even more special to me was the views I could enjoy that day...

Palm Trees...

Spiders...

Rainbows...

Nature is a natural wonder, living in Tokyo though it can be easy to

forget that fact, so make sure you get out there and remind yourself ok?

Shortly after arriving back into Minato-ku it was back to business as usual...

The time we spent there reminded me of the shoot I did with Daisuke Urano last year..

One of the most interesting things about working with the

Cartel, is that you begin to notice certain things, like the

types of people who join the 'Cartel'...

Like this gentleman I call 'The Big Ant', back when he

picked up his bike, he told me he was also producing and

recording music under the name 'ANTARIUS'... and the

other day he hit me with his  latest release like BOOM, so

it's my pleasure to share it with you all:

One track on the EP is produced  by a chap called Rellim

who produced this particular number that I cherish:

Actually on the point of beat-makers I have also been

impressed with the amount of work the homie

'Developedmindsmusix' - He's been making beats

everyday for the past few months, and just a few months

ago dropped this EP:

Big Ant's bike reminds me of mine in it's much earlier

stages where the only difference was the carbon riser

handle bars I had (Eric G big up for this snap bruv!):

However once you get use to the aerodynamics and

acceleration the Carbon wheels offer you... what is next?

Well this gent seems to have the answer...

Take the weight of the front of your bike with these two

easy steps:

1) Get our Carbon forks:

2) Get Diner's original Carbon bullhorn bars:

The weight reduction combined with the aerodynamics of

the front wheel will yield you great results... especially

if you keep them balanced with the might Chris King

Nothread headset:

Do your research and you'll soon see this headset has no

need for maintenance and keeps your bike STABLE on road!

Complete you should look something like this...

The final touch to make your bike special is the replacing

the crankset with one that has a solid bottom bracket like:

Yes the Omnium by Sram is solid my friends and allows you

transfer as much power to the wheel as your legs can

generate...

So why not change the way you 'Experience your road'

today?

I am very proud to present to you all a brand new way

to 'Experience your road'...

A new way to experience your road - 'Cartel' by Cartel Bikes.

from Cartel Bikes on Vimeo.

The new way of experiencing the road is exclusively for

ladies, who up until now have had to choose either:

Small - 53'

Medium - 56'

Large - 59'

Which are our standard (Avenue) bike sizes, which for

some ladies has been fine, but others maybe just a little

too big...

But now we are offering a new line of bicycles built exclusively

so that you ladies with an exclusive setup, colors and sizes...

"A new way to experience your road".

To celebrate this launch we will coming together with our

friends at 'Organic Plate by LAPAZ' to join their already

happening 'Sunday Brunch Party':
