Not the best Monday to start of the week but try not to
let that get you down.

I spent my weekend getting use to a new Chain ring I
was lucky enough to receive which mean't saying
good bye to Sram's Omnium chain ring:

And hello to this Sugino Zen 52' chain ring...

Part of the fun was once again using Diner's tools and
doing the labor myself. Hard work but always rewarding
the end result:

That a was a bit far so here is another closer look:

It looks good but the question is how does it ride?
Having a 52' by 16 setting on my bike gives me a
gear ratio of 3.25, which is probably a bit too heavy for
a lot of people...I was worried I might be one of them...

I was not sure what to expect but I had the
perfect chance to get a feel for the ratio this weekend
especially on Saturday night to Sunday morning:

I was actually DJing at Suki Bar and as you may have
seen in my previous blog I enjoy a good ride through
the city on weekend...

The previous blog post you saw I rode from Harajuku to
Ginza. However this time you get shots from Ginza to
Shibuya (yes I biked from Ginza to Shibuya after DJing).

I set out about 5:40, and could already feel the heat of
the day approaching, but still the slight haze of the AM
complete with empty city streets made it such a joy.

You just get to notice so much more when you ride in
the twighlight:

From Ginza to Shibuya it took me just over 20 minutes
and by the time I arrived in Shibuya the sun was even
more pumping...

Getting to Koara just in time to catch the tail end of this
guy's set:

And the final few songs of the night by this guy too:

It's nice to know that a level of attention and detail is kept
at Koara:

Look forward to more updates from us this week...

Welcome to the Friday update... and well this week went
faster than me on this thing:

This picture comes from my private rooftop bicycle parking
somewhere in Aoyama, and I usually park there when I
go to Franze & Evans, which I did yesterday to catch up
with some work and see how my riding partner is doing
with his coffee beans:

As always they were good and assisted me nicely in
busting through a bunch of emails and other work -
WHICH I will get onto later.

After receiving an emergency phone call from a friend
I decided to head out and run to his rescue, BUT not
before taking this snap for our instagram:

The phone call we can call a false alarm man, I bombed it
all the way to Shinsen thinking I was going to see something
amazing...but I was greeted by was GRIM REALITY...
of the sleepless dehydrated kind...It's all love though
but yeh I ejected from that scenario real quick, to return
myself back to regular broadcasting:

I stopped by the Interbreed 2016 A/W exhibition to
pass on some greetings... as I have been working
with this brand as a model since 2008. Although
recently only modelling for their blog but you can
see Interbreed's past collections on their website.

Their newest model was lucky enough to be taken out
to Okinawa to shoot their latest collection... and you
done know mans jealous about that?!? Like where was
that inspiration during all the years we worked together
bruv?! ;-)

It was good to see everyone their though including this
Gentleman:

Big respect to the Interbreed crew each and every
time!

After finishing up my day it was time to start my
evening/night. A visit to Febo was long overdue
ever since I have not been able to make it over it
over there to sample the new menu:

After have been fed and stuffed like a Turkey on it's
way to a Christmas dinner table, and being watered
just like one of these things:

Actually the above was how I decided to end my day
I find that watching Nature documentaries about the
ocean can be very soothing to the soul.

A good night is usually followed by a good morning,
especially if it's working with these two lads:

Gui Martinez (right)
Justin 'Yuefoh' Carter (left)

Rarely can the camera men also do the modelling
but with these two...they have it all.

Other highlights of this week have been accidently
rolling out with the riding partner again...

Exploring our surroundings and finding even more
inner city adventures:

Being comfortable enough to just let go and experience
our roads:

Usually always has happy endings:

Hoping you can also get much more out of your
week and weekend:

We are mid-way through the week and as such here is the
Midweek update, a very bike focused update for you at
that.

Do you remember that we did a shoot last week?

The shoot was for Loop Magazine and we received our
copy in the post today (THANK YOU!):

We get quite heavy coverage in within Loop magazine
and this time we have four pages of Cartel goodness
to share on pages P14 P94 P96 P101

Our headshop Diner is also featured in the magazine:

The main image was used from the shoot was this...
which you can see on P.14 of loop magazine:

So I have been learning MORE about bikes namely by
putting them together myself, and Iam very happy to
present you with Tikini's custom Chrome 'Avenue Lo'...

The handy work has been teaching a lot but mainly that
you have to respect a good mechanic...!

I choose Diner's original 50mm Carbon wheel set, as it is
subtle, light but retain that sleek carbon look:

It was very important that the bike had consistency so I
sourced out this Silver crank set, it's not from a brand
but still looks very nice in my opinion:

Keeping things sophiscated and smooth I opted to join
Nitto Silver riser bars with Brooks black leather grips:

Had to follow through with a Brooks black leather saddle:

I did the shoot at Sunset... can you see the subtle red glow
againist the Chrome of the 'Avenue Lo'?

Experience your road.

Today I remembered that one of my favorite new rappers
is from London, and that I know very little about him...
I'd like to introduce you to LORD APEX:

You can here his music and other GOOD new hiphop this
Friday at UC lounge at 'Make or Take' - where #fuckedm
is the moto and new hiphop/bass music is the method:

Join us!
The first news I have for you this Monday is that we have
done a re-up on our 'Avenue' bike stock...

In mat Black:

Mat Red:

Mat White:

Join me and 'Experience your road':

When it comes to music in recent days I have been
keeping tight and mainly paying attention to the 'home
team', so it's always a pleasure whenever something new
comes out of the camp - and these radio shows are
filled with gems:

This weekend past, I simply tried to keep my cool
and focus on resting, but I really did enjoy this
Margarita, at my local bar Narf:

Narf is really chill and well worth a visit after work, but
this weekend past, I guess even alcohol was beneath me,
this weekend I guess my release came in the form of
Matcha...

I was asked by the good people at La Paz to help create
some aural ambiance on Sunday afternoon at their
Matcha Fight event.

I have big up the Matcha brothers for showing me that
Matcha in it's highest form is a type of energy...

And that it goes quite well with beer too!
I want to give a special shout out to Graham though
for spreading so many good vibes through out La Paz
and especially to all the customers who literally were
cueing around the block in the heat to sample the
Matcha madness.

Moving onto Sunday evening, where a special visitor from
Osaka can to pay us a visit...

Yes my buddy the artist and visionary... 2yang, who is
always keeping it fresh spreading his amazing graphics,
inventions and musical madness where he goes.

This time he came to Tokyo to put add some visuals to
this vehicle:

Yup Toranoco Shokudo has expanded their business into
the realm of mobile catering...congratulations!

The release party brought together a lot of creatives
from both the music and art world.

A good time was shared by all who attended
including me...with that said I'll leave you alone.

See you on the Midweek update!

It's Friday (again!), and there is not better way to end
your week by reading this Friday update (tell a friend).

From the jump I bring you a custom mat black
'Avenue Lo', that you may have seen on our instagram
I think we'll call it the Black & Silver custom:

As it uses:
  • Sram Omnium in silver.
  • Diner's Aluminium wheel set
  • A silver stem
  • A silver seat post
You will agree that the silver contrasts quite well againist
the mat black of the frame:

The handle bars and seat post also contribute to this
contrast.

The ingredients for the above Black & Silver custom are:

Plus

and

and

And you will get the above effect, but if you are
looking for more detail why not add a silver stem?

The only other question left to ask is "How will
you experience your road?"

-----------------------------

I am very excited to share with you the next part of the
update...

Yes it concerns the man you see above who you will
call Lord Tusk, and it also concerns my Osiris.

We are very proud to present you with this brand new
soundtrack. Made for you to take journeys with using
your mind's eye - and as such Lord Tusk has named it:

PEREGRINATIONS IN MIND

Enjoy your journey:

Big shouts out to these mans each and every time!

That is not the only media I have for you today, as brand
Black Eye Patch have just released a new video for their
Spring/Summer 2016 collection:

Big shout out to the man Konida who provided the music.
You can re-cap on the project we did them here.

My other news is simply that I have been...

Experiencing my road:

Exploring my surroundings:

Handling business:

Expanding the network:

Running down hill:

Running with the rats:

It's been a good week...lets hope the weekend can follow
suite!
