Starting off today's post I wanted to show the results of my various upgrades more clearly:

Check the midweek update for a more detailed look at the bike.

You may not know but there is an emerging trend going on here in Tokyo;
of very small and independant boutique retail shops that only carry independant local brands
or vintage wares of some sort or another.

About 2 weeks ago I made a visit to one of these stores, called Newstand that happens,
to not only be a pioneer of the scene but also one of the leading outlets to purchase
ultra rare items:

You can find brands such as:

I & ME
Nothing To Sell
And some super limited run items from Osiris and Kathryn members...

News Stand feels much more of a market space than an actual retail shop,
with it's friends and regular customers stopping by for a chat or browse through
the assorted products that change on a weekly basis.

Another interesting point is that you'll find both Men and Women's items,
being sold together throughout the shop, but even then most of the brands have a
real androgynous feeling about them:

You'll find more than just clothing and accessories at News Stand:

An interesting point about News Stand is that it's only open
on weekends!

I believe this store is spear heading a new age of retail and street culture
here in Tokyo and as such they are starting to get the recognition for it:

News Stand always reminds me of the community around made me
we reminded me of this song:
